Weigh Ins Suck

Okay, so I've decided to only weigh in once a month now. I feel really good and motivated up until the moment when I step on the scale and realize that everything I've worked so hard for has come to nothing.....SO.......I decided that the real reason I'm running and being healthy really isn't about losing weight and therefore I don't want to be so focused on that.

So, as of the month of May I'm still hovering between 146-147 depending on the day........I'll weigh in at the end of June and see how I'm doing then........I just think this is best for me because then I am able to stay positive and motivated to exercise and run without feeling like it's all for nothing.....

Sunday I didn't run because I was still feeling sick, but yesterday I did 3 miles and today I did my abs and stuff. I'm still trying to hit the 12 mile mark this week so we will see.......

Seriously you should try the whole calorie counting thing. I walked like crazy all over this town for almost a year and all I did was gain weight. I start counting and bing, bang, boom I start loosing weight.

I hate stepping on the scales. It’s so frustrating to work so hard, and yet feel like it’s not working. I did wonder however, if maybe your body is replacing the weight with some awesome muscles. Your workouts sound fantastic and I bet you’re getting nicely toned from them. Maybe instead of weigh-ins, measuring would be better? At least that’s what I’ve heard from various sources. I may stop weighing in so much and start measuring instead. I just have to find that measuring tape…hmmmm…I remember where it was when we lived at Ft. Riley…=)

You’re doing amazing! And don’t worry, even if the scales don’t say it – you’re doing really really amazing things for your body.

Hi Teniah,

We haven't met but I'm a friend of Mindy's from Manhattan - Ft. Riley.

First off, congratulations on the 5 mile runs! That's awesome and it looks like you've got a really balanced running workout planned.
You are so good for stretching your muscles with yoga! I always hated stretching and tried to weasel out of it at any cost.

I was trying to hop on the get fit train with Mindy train a couple weeks ago but got side-tracked. I've finally got my blog up and need to link in with you gals. I don't really know the etiquette so I'm asking if I can link your blog to mine before I just go and do it. I guess I'll email my link to Mindy.

Nice to meet you virtually and I think it's very cool what you do for a living. Having lived in AK myself, it's a true gift to those in your community!

p.s. I'm with Mindy in wondering if you aren't converting to muscle. Forget the scale and listen to your heart - literally!
